Germany has modified its list of high risk areas to exclude several countries that were on that list last week.
The countries that were removed from the list of high risk areas on 18 February 2022 (coming into effect on 20 February 2022) are Afghanistan, Algeria, Andorra, Fiji, India, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Laos, Morocco, Nepal, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Spain (including the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands), Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (including all British Overseas Territories, Isle of Man, and the Channel Islands), the United States of America, Uzbekistan, and the French overseas departments of French Guiana, the Territorial Collectivity of Mayotte, and Saint Pierre and Miquelon.
This means that the new list of high areas includes the following countries and areas:
- Albania
- Antigua and Barbuda
- Argentina
- Armenia
- Australia
- Austria (with the exception of the municipality of Mittelberg and Jungholz and Rißtal in the municipal area of Vomp and Eben am Achensee).
- Azerbaijan
- Bahrain
- Bangladesh
- Barbados
- Belarus
- Belgium
- Belize
- Bhutan
- Bolivia
- Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Brazil
- Bulgaria
- Chile
- Colombia
- Costa Rica
- Croatia
- Cyprus
- The Czech Republic
- Denmark (including the Faroe Islands and Greenland).
- Dominica
- Ecuador
- Egypt
- Estonia
- Finland
- France and French overseas departments and overseas territories of Guadeloupe, Martinique, New Caledonia, Réunion, Saint Martin, and Saint Barthélemy.

This means that if you’ve been to one or more of these places in the last 10 days, you’ll have an obligation to register your entry into Germany, and present a vaccination or a recovery certificate. Otherwise, you’ll have to quarantine at home for 10 days.
